Eternal life - Cancer and Health difficulties

Jude – 21 Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Someone facing cancer or health difficulties face many trials in life. Whether waiting for the test results, new treatments that we put our hope in, or that the constant pain, exhaustion or fear that keeps us awake at night. Our minds go to places we don’t want to think about, our own demise and the loved ones we will leave behind. Maybe you’re the caregiver who loves the one you care for. Eternal Life is a blessing from God we can hold on to.

As you search the Bible from the Old Testament to the New you will discover a vast amount of Scripture that talks about God’s love for us. Jesus Christ came to earth, so that he could die on the cross,  his act makes atonement for our sins. There’s nothing we can do to save ourselves, it is God’s gift to us.  The Scriptures below describe the love he has for us and how hard it would be for us to be separated from him.

Romans 8: 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

Our thoughts – Please read verse nine through 39, in these verses is a multitude of trials one faces in life. If you’re going through cancer and health issues you know a lot of these trials firsthand but even through all that nothing can separate us from God’s love and that’s something to take into your heart.

Jude – 21 Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Our thoughts – cultivate our love for God by reading his Holy Word, praying with confidence and following his commands and love one another.

1 John 5 – 13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the son of God so you may know that you have eternal life.

Our thoughts – One must read the whole verse, five through 13 to get a better understanding. Verse 13 concludes John wrote these things, so that people may know they have eternal life. In other words, the Scriptures are written so that those who believe on the Lord Jesus may have the assurance that they are saved.

Romans 8: 37-39

Know, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I’m convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither the height nor the depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Our thoughts – Very simply instead of separating us from Christ’s love, these things only succeed in drawing us closer to him. We are not only conquerors but more than conquerors. It is not simply that we triumph over these formable forces, but that doing so we bring glory to God, blessing to others, and good to ourselves It’s great knowing your safe in God’s hands.

1John 2: 24-25

See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us – even eternal life.

Our thoughts – safeguard yourself from false teachers, let the gospel that cannot change, remain as your truth. When we abide in God’s holy word we affirm our faith, the promise of that faith is eternal life when we accept the Lord Jesus.
