Wisdom, Comes from God

Luke 8: 5-15 the seed sower and how it impacts your journey with cancer and health difficulties

Five things that will stop your seed (The Word of God) from growing

1.)  Not reading the Bible and asking God to teach you and open his wisdom and understanding to you.

Warning against rejecting wisdom Proverbs 2: 20 – 33  Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares;

at the head of the noisy streets she cries out, in the gateways of the city. She makes her speech:

How long will you simple ones love your simple ways?

How long we, you mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?

If you had responded to my rebuke, I would’ve poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you.

But since you rejected me when I called and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand, since you ignored all my advice and would not accept my rebuke, I in turn, will affect your disaster;

I will mock when calamity overtakes you, when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when disaster in trouble overwhelms you.

Then they will call to me, but I will not answer, they will look for me but will not find me.

Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord, since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. For the waywardness of the simple will kill them and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.

2.)  Not confessing your weakness and sins and asking Christ into your life. Romans 10: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

3.)  Ashamed of the gospel. Luke 9: 26 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. Are you hiding your light under a table? Remember other people can learn from you and by what strengthens your faith.

4.)  Not having someone in your life to discuss God’s Word with.  Matthew 18: 20For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” NIV

5.)  Not meditating on God’s word throughout the day, asking for wisdom and understanding. Psalm 77:12 I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds.  Or Psalm 119: 15 I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.

My question for you         “How is your seed growing?”

                                                  Has it taken root?
